He accepted Christ in his life
at an early age and was baptized at Hall Hill
Baptist Church by the Late Reverend Speaks. He was
ordained as a Deacon in 1981. Upon entering the
North Country in 1985, he assisted in establishing
Chapel #2 on Fort Drum, New York. Pastor Butler
united with Sweet Haven Holy Church of God #3 in
1987, under the leadership of Elder Nathaniel C.
Johnson. He accepted "his calling" into Preaching
Ministry in 1989. Pastor Butler can recall the very
first sermon he preached, title "I've Never Seen A
Man Like This man".
In July 1995, Pastor Butler was
appointed as Pastor of Sweet Haven Holy Church of God
#3, under the leadership of Bishop Nathaniel C. Johnson
(with God given wisdom). Pastor Butler's primary concern
was and still is to feed the people the Word of God. He
has been a positive, spiritual influence in the lives of
the members of the Sweet Haven Family and the
surrounding community.
Pastor Butler currently holds the
position as "Overseer of the Work" in the Holy Churches
of God. In addition to his Pastoral duties, Pastor
Butler has been employed with the Information
Technology Center Fort Drum for the past 17 years, where
he is an E-mail Administrator.
We thank God for this "Anointed Man
of God" that we have in Pastor Butler. He is a true Man
of God, who is filled with the fire and the Holy Ghost.
We are even thankful for the "dance" that the Lord has
placed in his feet! We thank God for Pastor and First
Lady Butler taking on the "charge" to lead the flock at
Sweet Haven Holy Church #3. We, the Sweet Haven Family,
are truly blessed; and we honor Pastor and First Lady
Butler, for they are living examples of the teaching and
preaching of God's Word!
